OVERVIEW
The Alan E. Cober Scholarship recognizes and supports talented UB Art majors who are committed to drawing. Each year, one award of approximately $500 is given to a gifted student to assist in the completion of his or her undergraduate degree. The scholarship recipient, selected by a committee of Visual Studies faculty, will be presented with the award during the spring semester Department of Visual Studies Scholarship Luncheon.

ELIGIBILTY
The Alan E. Cober Scholarship is open to all undergraduate accepted art majors with a concentration in drawing and a department GPA of 2.5 or higher.

APPLICATION PROCESS
Students must submit a Department of Visual Studies Alan E. Cober Scholarship application (co-signed by a faculty sponsor), a portfolio and a written artist’s statement to the department office (202 CFA) by 5:00 pm on Friday, February 29, 2008. Applications will not be accepted after this date.

Portfolio
Applicants must submit a professionally presented portfolio consisting of 10 – 15 slides or digital images on CD.
